What is a race licence?
A race licence provides you with insurance cover during racing and training with triathlon clubs. They are either available for a year from the governing body triathlonscotland, or race by race. The higher cost of the race entry for people with out a race licence effectively provides you with a race day only licence.

Race Licence Available from traithlonscotland.

The National Tristar / Scottish Youth Champs are open to all kids aged 8-16 and don't be put off by the 'Champs' title, it really does cater for all abilities!

The Mega Mini is a unique event in as much as it doesn't get much more first timer friendly than this!!  It is a fantastic event for those who wish to dip their toe into the sport of triathlon and athletes enjoy a very supportive and friendly atmosphere the whole way round the course.  Feedback from previous races have been extremely positive, even from the most nervous of newbies to this fantastic sport.

There are no barriers to joining in the fun:

You can swim any style you wish and find the easiest.  A special prize may be considered if anyone pulls off the perfect butterfly for the duration of the swim!  You will need something to swim in that complies to Triathlon Scotland rules, basically keep all your bits and bobs covered up people, no mankinis allowed I'm afraid ;-)

Feel free to change into whatever you are comfortable biking and running in after the swim, your enjoyment and comfort is the main aim here so don't worry about needing the latest kit donned by the GB squad. You can of course make your way round the run course at a speed you are happy with: walk, jog, sprint the run section, whatever works for you.

All we ask is that you have a roadworthy bike and a helmet (no helmet - no playing).  Any style of bike is permitted, it does not need to be a road bike - you can't get out it that easily :)

It's all just a fun day out
Looking forward to seeing you there
